Home we go!

See ya Kelowna! It's time to go home! Yes, it is true and of course, i am so excited about that! The more i think about going home, the more i think about how important it is to be with family. So, yes i am very pumped about going home to my family. But,I must mention again this time that i have been so well looked after while down here in Kelowna. So many special people came around and blessed me in so many ways. So, yes, i will miss these special people in a huge way and i look forward to coming back next summer to visit.
I said my goodbyes at the cancer clinic yesterday. What a challenge that was. I keep saying to people on the blog and in chatting around here to please be praying for a chaplin to be in the cancer clinic. What a need! What an opportunity!
Well, Esther has been so good about looking after all the little details around here. Now, it is pack up and travel home stuff to do right away. So, i will keep this short and say a special thank you to you all again for all of your encouragement while i have been down here. I will be blogging tomorrow and i will say once again, i will keep blogging as long as there are people plugging in and checking up on me. I promise to behave when i go home. I know it will be a big challenge in many ways once i go home but i know the Lord will be there for me too. I am so thankful for the strength that comes from my friendship with the Lord. It is going to be great going home! So, see ya later!
Love and prayers,
Tim

LAST DAY TODAY

Wow! Today is the day for my final treatment here. 6 weeks is over and i am on my way home tomorrow! Praise the Lord! It has been so exciting to interact with the most amazing people that the Lord brought across my path while down here. Amen. amen.Amen. So, Esther and i have to say all of our good byes at the clinic. Please be praying that the people Esther and i am suppose to see this afternoon, we will see and have the right words to share with them.
We had a great day again yesterday. We went to the church on the local reserve with pastor Rick Liebel. What an amazing move of God going on there. Beautiful people, beautiful Lord! Partnership was made with that church yesterday and i am so excited about the future.
Hey, are you out there? Are you blessed and encouraged in the Lord daily? I sure hope so, because each new day is a blessing from the Lord. Each new day, we have the opportunity to live and love and really care for others. Each new day, we can live and really soar with the love of God that He pours into our lives. Why? So, that we can be a shining, bright blessing to those we come in contact with each new day.
To really be blessed and soar, you definitely need to soak in the scriptures daily or at least regularly having good devotional times. Pick up a good devo. book and find that regular daily time(as much as possible)to read and apply the Bible truths to your life. It will change your life from the inside out. If you are already doing that, you know exactly what i mean.
Well, blessings your way and thanks for lettting me share with you today.
Love and prayers,
Tim

Last Sunday in Kelowna

Hey, it is winding down fast around here. We sure had another busy day yesterday.
It started out with getting up and ready to do brunch with friends from WL. That was one tasty meal. We went to IHOP.(pancake place)It was great! I love to visit! oh yes i do!
Then, Esther and i went shopping around for some items for the house. Still just looking but it's fun to see what's out there. But hey, it sure does get tiring when you cruise around looking for stuff, not finding stuff, then looking for more stuff.
Do you ever get tired of shopping. To be honest, i really don't like shopping at all.(ok, sometimes i like it when it's for........me.)
Anyhow, we got back to the motel, and had a nice relaxing "rest" of the day. Then, in the evening, we got a call from Corwin's parents. Of course, that is where i stayed for the first 9 days, before coming to the motel. They were wanting to touch base before we go home tuesday. It was kinda neat because i said to Esther in the afternoon that we should swing by and touch base with them so we will today. Anyhow,
speaking of touching base, i want you to know again and again, that i have been so blessed by those of you who have been able to blog with me while down here. It has been a huge blessing to me. Plus, i am going to continue to blog when i get home. As i said before, if people are logging on, i will keep writing. I hope this continues to be a blessing to those of you who have told me in so many special ways that you do get blessed by it. That is so awesome! I can't believe how many connect each day or each week from all over Canada, some USA, some Switzerland,Argentina, Korea, etc... so amazing to me. It has been fun watching the counter grow each day even though it was only on for the past two weeks.
Well, have a great Sunday. We are going to church on the West Bank First Nations church today. Talk at ya tomorrow.
Tim
PS **********Oh ya, big prayer request. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THE BUILDING THAT WE OPERATE OUR THRIFT STORE FROM HAS TO BE VACATED IN 30 DAYS. I GUESS THE OWNER SOLD THE BUILDING SO WE HAVE TO MOVE QUICK. PLEASE PRAY THAT WE FIND A BUILDING THAT IS JUST WHAT WE NEED TO MOVE INTO BY THE END OF THE 30 DAYS. WE NEED THIS INCOME FROM THE STORE TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH FOR CHRIST.*********************
Just so you know, i have been having trouble with publishing the blog for some technical reason. So, if today doesn't get there today, i will keep trying to publish, but it keeps saying error.

Last Saturday Here

Good morning to you all,
As things wind down here in Kelowna, I'm always thinking it's the last time doing this or that here. So, it's the last Saturday here before leaving on Tuesday. Once again, it was nice to spend some time with patients at the clinic on Friday. I am going to miss them so much. Please keep praying for a chaplin for the clinic. Some friends came down from WL yesterday to Kelowna, so, we can spend some time with them today. That will be great! Plus, last night, we had supper at friends of ours that moved here last year from Abbotsford. We haven't seen them for, i'm sure, 5 or 6 years. Also, yesterday, a good friend of Esther's from many years ago, drove here from Penticton to visit us. We saw her about 4 years ago. So,we have done alot of reconnecting with alot of amazing people who have been a part of our lives over the past 30 years. On monday, we are having supper with a friend of mine who i went to high school with 30 years ago. She moved here last year from Manitoba and attends the church that announced they were coming to pray for us on Monday. When the pastor mentioned my name, my school friend told the pastor she new me, so we got connected and will have a great visit on Monday. Cool eh? Oh ya!
Well, have a great day and chat at you tomorrow.
Tim
PS How about that verse in James 1:5,6 where it says,"If anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But, when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
So, if you believe and need some Godly wisdom in your life at this time, apply the Word to your life and enjoy the helping hand of the Lord. He is always there for those who need Him. That's for sure. See ya!

One left after today!

The has flown by so fast! I have had such an amazing time down here. The people at the clinic have been so kind to me. The people around Kelowna, who have come by to encourage me and pray with me have been so amazing. The people who have stayed with me, i can't say enough about how they blessed me. I could just go on and on about how blessed i am because i really have been so blessed while here taking these treatments. But the biggest challenge i will have when i leave here is not being able to connect with people who come to the clinic for treatment. They are such beautiful people who need encouragement and prayer. Please pray for a chaplin for the clinic. I heard they had a good chaplin but he left and has never been replaced. So let's pray together for a chaplin at the clinic. Thankyou for joining in that prayer. That means alot to me!
James1:22 is a verse that comes to me right now that i would like to pass on to you."Be doers of the Word and not hearers only," Read the rest of that passage and it will encourage you to share the love of the Lord with those you come in contact with. God loves all people and desires true friendship with all. So, enjoy that friendship that He offers and let it be poured out around you to others. I love the joy that shines out through those who have the "joy of the Lord" within them.
Hey, have a great day and feel free to connect with me any way you can. I love it!
See ya,
Tim

Only 3, how can that be?

Yes, only 3 visits to the zapper machine left. That's awesome! Plus, just a few days and Esther and i will be home. We were talking the other day about how much fun and enjoyment we had on our 25th anniversary trip to Switzerland this past June. We want to go back so bad.(no, we will be going back. Those Swiss people are fun, fun, fun.)
What an amazing time! We did it on airmiles. Crazy eh? It's amazing how you can save, save, save, but you have to be committed to SAVE. Speaking of save, that really can be a tough word to live out. You are probably saying, Tim, what are you talking about now? Well, to be honest, i am not sure yet, but if you wouldn't interrupt, i will try to figure that out. Is that ok, or would you like to keep bugging me like that.:) Ok, now i really don't have a clue how i am going to finish this. That's one thing i love about life. What? I can go about my day without prsssure on my life as to what i should be accomplishing. I just need to let the Lord live through my life to accomplish what He wants. So, the pressure is off. How many who are tuned into this blog feel crazy pressure each day to achieve, achieve, achieve? I would love to beable to help out in some way to lessen the pressure in your life in some way. So, if you can email me at slimtimmy12@yahoo.ca that would be great. I will be praying for you and trusting the Lord for a miracle in your life. Well, there you go. The topic of saving didn't quite work it's way out today except SAVE that question for my email and let's trust the Lord for a great day. Bless you!
and miss you,
Tim

Did I say 4?

Good day to you all! This blog thing is so exciting to me! I really look forward to connecting with my blog friends each day. I know that so many of you are praying for me. Just that alone is so awesome! I have felt such a caring spirit over my life, not just from the Lord, but also from you. Thank you so much for that! So, for those of you who are praying, thank you so much! I have been so blessed during this wild and crazy journey.
Another thing that has really touched my life through this blog is the many kind words sent in on the comments area. That has been huge to me. Seriously, when going through this, your mind can get overwhelmed at times. But, i have to be honest and say that this blog spot has been huge for me in regards to staying positive and focused. Very focused! Extremely focused! Yes, i really mean that. Thank you so much!!
Some people have asked me recently if i am going to continue with the blog when i go home next week. Of course I am. I love connecting with you people and hope that God is using this blog in some way to touch your life in a positive way as well. I do believe so strongly that i am suppose to continue with this blog. Somehow, God is using this blog to touch lives in a positive way and that gets me right excited! So, if you stay tuned, so will I.
I know i will be making some time changes when i start back to work next week. To start with, i will be going back on a part-time basis. Then, during that time, look at new ways of developing the YFC ministry to touch more lives locally, as well as those outside our local area. One outreach that the Lord has been laying on our hearts is reaching out to our First Nations groups. We do that already through our youth centre, etc... but i'm talking about mission teams to various reserves where the doors are open to have us. Guess what? I believe the doors will be wide open when we start out. In fact, i have now teamed up with a pastor here who ministers to First Nations people full time. God gave him a tent complete with a sound system and chairs. So, we have access to a team who is ready to join us as we reach out in this way. Now that's incredible! Anyhow, did i mention that Esther and i could be in Thailand next December ministering in a Bible college and other situations there? I'll have to let you know more about that in the next little while. There is just so much opportunity opening up to us. Anyhow, you are right, I am spoiled rotten and loving it!
Hey, 4 more, then home we go.
Love and prayers,
Tim

5, ya only 5

That's right, i only have 5 treatments left here in Kelowna. Good morning to you all!
Esther and i arrived back in Kelowna just in time to unpack and go to my appointment. Then our daughter,Rachelle, arrived from the Bible college she attends,
to hang out with us for a few days. We are very happy that she can be here to visit.

I have to let you know that we hosted an amazing prayer meeting last night right here in our motel room. A local pastor, along with some of his prayer team and a local retired pastor all came together to PRAY for me. WOW! What an incredible prayer time! I was so encouraged and major blessed! Plus, i just feel so good! Plus, my beautiful wife kept saying that i look so much younger after the prayer time.(now that's scary!) I mean, how much younger am i suppose to look? I guess, if i looked older, maybe i wouldn't have had a kid's tumor in my spine.(just kidding!):)

Actually, i am going to post this crazy truth again because i think there are many new people on this blog that don't know what type of tumor i have/had. Here it goes.
When i was diagnosed, i had a brain tumor, in my spine, that is really only found in kids. So, that is one thing that makes it so rare. It is so rare in kids, yet extra rare in adults to the stupid stage. Why i said "have/had" is because i had the tumor. Now, after all the prayer and radiation/chemo, that tumor is destroyed. Amen! Please be standing with us in regards to that truth. We are believing for a totally devine healing! Plus, we believe so clearly that we are going to pray for others and see them healed by God miraculously as well. Feel free to join this special healing prayer team as we step out in the opportunities that God brings our way.
You know, when we were told originally that i had a child's tumor, my wife said, "Tim, I told you that you should grow up. You were suppose to stop acting like a kid but, no, you even have a kid's tumor now." Everyone had fun with that one. Plus, ya, they were so right. I do like to act a tad childlike, ok, a lot childlike, ok, i am one big kid! But, God still loves me and i would verture to say that He loves you too. So, there is hope out there! Do you agree? If you don't have hope, you are hooped! I like that! NO HOPE,YOU ARE HOOPED! or HOOPED WITHOUT HOPE!
To be totally straight up, i would have to say that personally, i have incredible hope for the future, because i am in a personal friendship with the Creator. Of course, the BIBLE says all can have friendship with the Creator through Jesus, because He paid the penalty for our sin by dying on the cross. All we have to do is say sorry for our sin and ask Him to forgive us. Then, invite Jesus to give us His strength to walk this incredible life that follows. The peace and inner joy that comes in whatever situation you find yourself is just so amazing. I wouldn't change it for anything else that i have come across in the 30 years that i have continues to journey through life.

Well, that's enough for now, i find myself in a preaching mode lots lately. I hope you don't mind too much, plus it really is close to my heart so i guess it will come out more. Hang in there, it just might change your life! It did mine!
Love ya,
Tim

Monday, #6

Hi Y'all,
Just a quick note to say hi and to let you know that we are leaving soon to go back to Kelowna for treatment today. I have to be there for 5:30pm. Then we have people coming to our motel room for a prayer meeting. Rachelle is coming to visit us until thursday. That will be sweet! So, after today, only 5 sessions left. Amen.
We had a great visit with family and some friends over the weekend and of course, can't wait until we are back next tuesday for good. My son, Jeremiah just had me sign a school paper to give him permission to participate in parent workplace experience. So, on Wednesday, when i get back, Jeremiah will be hanging out at work with me. We are going to start selling stuff on Ebay to raise funds for YFC so if anyone around here would like to help us with that, i would love to hear from you.
Also, i will beable to show Jeremiah all about setting up mission
trips and whatever else seems somewhat practical. So, that will be fun for me to have him there for the day.
Hey, have a great day and i'll chat at you tomorrow.
Love and prayers,
Tim

Sunday Oct.22

Good morning!
I sure had a great sleep in my bed! Yes, i love my bed. Actually, i have hardly used my bed because i have been in Kelowna. But guess what? I'll be back! That statement reminds me of the Arnold movies. At least he is giving his pals the oppurtunity to know that he will be back and they better be prepared for him. Actually, he's not such a big guy. I could take him! Ok, don't get laughing so fast. Most of you haven't seen me for quite awhile. Oh, that's right, you might have seen my foot the other day. Now that was nasty! Todd, will have to get permission from now on before he puts on pictures for me. That was just Nasty! Thanks Todd! You cutie pie. Todd, remember who hires you in the summers and hopefully fulltime come this April. Or, are you
trying to tell me something through this "Nasty" picture? Come on Todd, i can take it.
<--(take that Tim)<--
Anyhow, when i said the phrase, "I'll be back" i also thought of someone else who made that statement long before Arnold. Of course, it was Jesus. What is weird to me is that i have never thought about that connection regarding Arnold's line before. So, that leads me to want to say that Jesus really made that line famous. What's even more amazing is that Jesus wasn't just speaking lines he was given for the entertainment value. Jesus was making sure that all people knew what he was up to and that they had the opportunity to be ready upon His return. The Bible says that God does not want any to perish eternally outside of a friendship with the Lord. His heart is that all will ask forgiveness of sin and receive eternal life as one huge blessing! God loves His creation so much! But the Bible makes it so clear that He will never force anyone to follow His ways. It boils down to a choice. In a way, it's too bad we have a choice, because, so often, we want to do our own thing. Jesus came and paid the penelty for our sin on the cross. Then, just before Jesus went up to heaven he said "I'll be back!"(Tim's paraphrase). Yes, he is coming back to finish off the emeny of our souls and to gather up all who chose to follow his ways. Just think, eternity with Him. Not a bad deal! I didn't take the time to look up the scripture references for what i said. If you like, please email me and i will send the verse references. One last point i need to make here is this. Jesus never said "Live life to the fullest on your owe strenghth, good luck. Be careful." No, Jesus said, I am going to the Father, but "I will leave with you, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit." Thank the Lord that as we follow His ways, He is there to help us do what is right and pleasing to Him by allowing His Spirit to fill us and give us all we need so that we can stay in purity as we walk this road before His return. So, don't forget, it was Jesus who first made that line popular. I'll be back!
Love and prayers,
Tim

WL is Great!

It sure is nice to be home for the weekend. We had a smooth trip and enjoyed it all.By the way, Hi and i hope you are having a great weekend. When we got home, we had to open some mail. Our friends from the USA, sent a cd full of healing scriptures. So, all morning, i have been enjoying listening to the Word of God in relation to healing. Wow, it sure does boost you up and keep your focus on HEALING. If you are interested, it is called Healing Scriptures, and it can probably be bought at most Christian bookstores.
I have met so many special people at the cancer clinic. I am actually looking forward to connecting over the next week and a bit with them before treatment is complete on the 30th of October. Could everyone who reads this blog and prays, could you please be praying for all the people that Esther and I have contact with over this next 9 or 10 days. We really want to be a source of strength and encouragement, not to mention to let the Lord use us in the healing process. Thank you so much for your support.
Anyhow, chat, chat tomorrow.
In His Grip,
Tim

After today 6 left, sweet!

So,it is Friday, Oct.20 and we are on our way to WL right after treatment at noon. We had a real blast last night at Ralph and Carrie Peters. Matt and Sandra Duffy joined us. Great visit, meal, prayer and pedicure. Yes, i said pedicure.(kinda like a tickle foot time) Ralph and Matt do such a good job! No, their wives did it! Both, Esther and I got tickled! We just have to show off our toes on the weekend.(NOT!) It really was great though!
Anyhow, it has been another amazing week down here, but i really am looking forward to going home for the weekend and seeing the kids. Plus, some other connecting is always special as well. Cecile keeps working so hard on the up and coming banquet. If you are in the area, please plan on attending our annual yfc banquet, Nov.11. Call Cecile or Donna to reserve space for you and some friends. Staff and volunteers will be giving testimonies that will cover what has been going on over the past year.
Of course, the food will be very good, catered by Edilweiss Catering, who always give us the best price and overall deal. Yummy! We even have a new promo video and special music performed by Marlin Froese and Family. So, please plan on being with us!
I love this passage of scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We are so blessed! Our hope is in the Lord and that's exactly where it will stay. I love the Lord and His blessing has been all over me. I am so spoiled rotten it's almost hilarious. Please join me in thanking the Lord for His blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you Lord!
Hey, let's chat tomorrow.
See ya,
Tim

8 only, Just a Tad.

Good morning to you all;
Today is the beginning on another new day. Wow! We actually have the opportunity to live another day. What a gift from God! Life is a gift from God. The more we can wrap our minds around that, the more we will be able to enjoy each new day. It is a gift! Everyone loves gifts. When i receive a gift, i don't jump up and down and get crazy excited, but i do look forward to opening it and i do appreciate gifts. So, as we read and discover that if things were just a tad different(i mean just a tad) in this universe, life could not be on this earth. There would not be enough oxygen, or just the right warmth or coolness in the air. We could so easily be fried or frozen if things shifted JUST A TAD.(I think we should write those few words down and place them in areas where we will be reminded of how blessed, spoiled and Special we are)
So, because you have been given life today, how special should you treat it? I hope you know that these are just thoughts that i am throwing out there that are on my mind right now. I don't want you to think that i am just preaching away at you. Ok, i am preaching away, but as gentle as possible.:)
The words, fried or frozen, stick out as i read this over. Let's enjoy this new day to the fullest by encouraging someone, helping someone in some way, accomplishing a goal that you have put off for some time, or just plain having a thankful heart and smiling at those you connect with. Let's face it, you can't go wrong when you touch another life in a positive way. Now that's what i'm talking about!
I just happen to have a special verse to encourage you to do good. Hebrews 4:13 says, "Nothing in all of creation is hidden from God's sight." God knows exactly where you are at. So, receive the gift and give the gift away. There's more where that came from.
Tomorrow,
Tim

9 more

So, what a ride this has been so far! I am so excited that it is down to 9. Well, i had a great sleep again last night.(Esther didn't snore!Just kidding, she did! No she doesn't snore.) I guess you don't know if i am joking or not now. I mean really, it wouldn't be nice to embaress my wife. So, let's just change the subject and relax. Speaking of relaxing, have you been relaxing? That was a topic i had a few days ago and i'm not just chatting away to fill time. I just feel so strongly that we have to get this topic of rest and relaxation and apply it. Plus, i know it will not be easy to do any kind of quality shift in a very short time, but you can start. I feel so blessed because it will be easier to start applying it to my life because i have to rest to heal, but guess what? So do you! YOU HAVE TO REST TO HEAL! Jesus rested!(He prayed alot too! He had lots of energy to pray because He was well rested.) When your focus on life is in order, the things of life don't seem overwhelming, so you can actually have a healthier outlook and feel rested throughout the day, because you are not burdened down with the things that so easily grab you and side track you. Do you think there are a few things out there that have a tendency to reach out and entangle you?(they can so often be things that are good which can make it even more challenging to say "No, not now" to)
I think i'll share what Jesus has to say about rest in Matt.11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
So often we are following the walk that we want to walk, (the word, want, is the key)We might "want" to do something but is it the right thing or the right timing. I like the part in the verse where it says "learn from me, and rest for your souls" because i can just imagine reading the Bible(especially the Gospels)and receiving complete rest through my whole being as I follow His will and direction for my life. Take in a big breath of God's love and have a great day!
But, don't forget to rest!
In His Grip,
Tim

The Count Down Begins

Hey, good morning,
Today begins the 10, 9, 8 count down until it's get out and get home to WL. The time does go by fast but, you just want to get home. Of course, i'm thankful for everything that has taken place here so far. I have been treated so well, I've had such great visitors and amazing people who have stayed with me to care for me, but i just want to get to WL.
You would have cracked right up if you had to witness the ordeal i went through in the handicap bathroom in a restaurant here in Kelowna two nights ago. By the time i got out of there, i was extremely exhausted. I will try to share without too much detail. First off, because i have cut back on pain meds, i don't need as much lazative.(i just didn't realize that until discovery) Anyhow, just as we were pulling away to go to this restaurant with some friends, i noticed something was up. So i whispered to Esther to get me some clean underwear in case of an accident. Anyhow, we go to our destination and i ordered my food, then found this nice big washroom.
First off, i got out of my wheelchair and sat down on toilet. I did my business than realized i needed a wet cloth, so i went to grab my chair but it started to wheel away from me, so i stretched out for it, and almost fell off the toilet. Somehow, i managed to drag it back to me before realizing that i would have to knee on the chair and roll to the sink across the room for water and cloth.I had never performed that move before.(not easy)Then, i grabbed the stuff and had to wheel back with one hand holding the damp paper, the other trying to roll the chair(not easy)then i get back to the toilet after awhile because everything takes time. Now i'm starting to get real tired but i still had to clean everything up. Then after cleanup(which was interesting to say the least), i had to change everything. Ya, the wheelchair decides to roll away again as i stretch to grab, hold and roll it back without dropping my clothes, falling off the toilet and keeping the stuff in my hands from falling everywhere.
Anyhow, somehow, i finally managed to get everything back together and finish all the clean up before exiting back into the restaurant after sweeting up a storm and becoming so exhausted that i could barely roll back to the table. Well, when my pals saw me, they were somewhat shocked at how worn out i looked but thankful i didn't miss the meal with them. I actually enjoyed the meal and ended up having a nice time, but i sure was happy to get back to our place and relax. Anyhow, i just thought i needed to share with you something a little different today. Be thankful i spared you alot of challenging details.(see, i do care about you all after all)
Anyhow, have a super day. That's my plan.
In His Grip,
Tim

Crazy days gone!

That's right! After today, i have just 10 more treatments before i can go home and stay home. Sweet! Speaking of sweet, Esther just did a great job of cutting my toe nails. It was a challenge, but she tackled it like a pro. Now, she's gone to do some of my laundry. I mean really! She is spoiling me rotten. I am so blessed! I am loved!
My mornings are usually full of listening to great teaching tapes and reading. What a change from the hussle and craziness that used to be quite normal for me. So, that is one big thing i have learned while here. SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY THE MOMENT! Yes, it is ok to do that. Why is it that we so often feel that if we are not running wild, we are not accomplishing anything, or much at all? I'll let you in on a secret i have discovered. ANSWER:Because we are not listening to the voice of our heavenly Father. What? Is it true that we could be doing our own thing alot of the time? Take a moment and listen.God wants to lead us through each new day. He wants us to love others through Him.Period! Done deal.Hey, let's keep our day to day walk close to Him and let Him lead. It sure takes the pressure off and helps us to keep us focused on what life is really all about.
(Love God, love others) Well, i'll try to connect later today,
so see ya later.

Sunday Moving Day

Good morning to you all! Hey did you have a chance to check out the
family photo from Thanksgiving weekend. Wow, what a snap shot! Of course, Joel stole most photogenic again. But it is obvious that he has no idea which way the wind was blowing that day.(Joel, lucky you weren't playing golf on the weekend.) Joel(20)is my oldest son. Next to Joel is my youngest son, Jeremiah(13),next to Jeremiah is Grandpa Wade. Then, Grandma Wade is by Grandpa, but our family member for the last 11 years is between them. His name is Gean. Beside Grandma is my brother Dale. On my right, I have my beautiful wife, Esther. Behind her, is my son Josiah.(16) There's my oldest child,Rachelle(21), right behind me, making sure I'm behaving. Now, if you can follow that, you are having one amazing day!
Yesterday was suppose to be quite relaxing and quiet because i was going to be alone for a bunch of the day, due to my brother going home and my wife arriving later in the day. But, not even close! It was an awesome day, full of people dropping by and calling! I have to admit though, the yard sale was a huge highlight! Anyhow, it was another day full of sharing and prayer(ok, I watched the nhl hockey game on tv last night too.)

Thanks Rick Z. for directing hungry Bible students to my blog with the intention of doing battle prayer. That's huge for me! All prayer is very much welcome here. Of course, it's same old, same old, from the doctors here regarding hope for healing but i serve a risen Savior, who is in the world today.(anyone remember that old hymn with those words? Be honest!) I have 2 more weeks of radiation/chemo before I can be back in WL where i am suppose to be. When you find yourself in a situation where your body needs healing, certain scriptures all of a sudden become "very" special to you. I hope you don't mind, but i have to throw out another challenge. Please send me scripture references regarding healing in scripture.(remember, the ladies came out on top with the last one) You can post on my email(slimtimmy12@yahoo.ca or blog) I really do value your involvement in my life. It really is incredible to me. I highly value it. As i read more on healing, and listen, i really get that much more focused on the healing that is on it's way. My hope in in the Lord! There's no other place that even comes close. As He continues to pour hope into my life, He continues to pour His love, as He pours love, He mixes in joy, as He... just fill in the blanks with all the positive words that describe Jesus. It's that awesome! I am so blessed that i actually feel so spoiled rotten. Seriously, it has gotten to the place where i think people must for sure think i am in some kind of a denial stage, mixed with a fear that has masked itself as hope. i don't understand it all, not even close. But, i do know Jesus personally as my best friend. He has been there for me for the past 30 years and i know so clearly His promises ARE TRUE. THE BIBLE IS FULL OF HIS PROMISES. One promise that is a real favorite of mine is Prov.3:5,6 which says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." That is one scripture that has been fulfilled in my life so many times. Break that verse down over this next week and really look into what is being said here. Applying this verse alone to your life will remove depression. In fact, i feel so strongly right now that someone reading this blog is being healed of depression right now as they are reading this. Wow! I just have to pray for you right now. Father, i come before you in Jesus name. I am so thankful for your healing touch on lives right now. I pray for this one who is experiencing healing from depression right now. I ask that you would fill them so full of your love. It's your love Lord that is so desperately needed in this world and I pray that this depresssion would be so OBVIOUSLY gone in this persons life in Jesus name! Amen. Please be praying for whoever that was intended for. This isn't something that i have been doing with this blog. But, as i say that, i feel that it is something that is going to be happening more as i am open and allow the Lord to use me in this way. Guess what? Normally i am pretty pumped throughout the day, but at this moment, i am extra pumped and excited about what is next. This journey with the Lord is so amazing. I hope you don't forget the scripture challenge. What a great day! Talk to you soon! Enjoy the Lord to the fullest!
In His Grip,
Tim

First Yard sale in 2 months

Can you believe it? I got out of bed early and rolled down the street to a little church yard sale today. It was awesome! i BOUGHT COOL FISHING RODS, TWO FISH NETS, GREAT BRASS ITEMS(CATS&BIRDS,SAIL BOAT),4 CAST IRON PANS,CERAMIC BIRD,BIBLE BEDTIME HARDCOVER BOOK 50YEARS OLD. IT WAS A BLAST!(i think i will start a little on line auction while here, so get your questons and bids in) This stuff sells in our thrift store so fast. What a great way to raise funds for the yfc ministry in WL. Seriously, if you live around the WL area, and need to get rid of "stuff", just call the store 305-2933. It really is a huge help! or drop in and buy some treasures and know that the funds raised are going to help us reach out to the kids and families in the area who need to experience the love of the Lord in a real way! Thanks for your support!
So, my brother Dale got to the plane on time. That was a sad moment for me, but what a blessing to have him with me for 2 weeks.WOW! Tomorrow, we move to the Siesta Inn,room 150.(250-763-5013)and of course, my cell is still 250-303-1429.
I just finished listening to another teaching tape on healing. The Word of God is full of healing scriptures. I feel like i am bathing in them. It's awesome! This walking with God stuff gets better and better with each new day. His peace and joy is all over me and His love fills me to overflowing each new day! How can life get any better than that? I've enjoyed looking up different scriptures that have been sent to me from my blog buddies over the past few days(email and blog). Some i had and some were new. Thanks again for response. Don't forget, i love prayer requests too!
Todd has been putting in more pictures in the blog. I hope you are enjoying them. Of course, i shaved before church last sunday so i look alot different, almost scary. Please note the picture of the new bus. What a beauty! Isn't God good? Of course!
Corwin(Associate pastor,WL) just popped in to visit. We had a nice visit and prayer together. He has been a big help to me and will be more of a help as he continues to do stuff with regards to yfc. Thanks again Corwin for your help!
What a day! I just got a call from the guy who originally hired me 22 years ago to work with yfc in WL.Many of you know him. Jim Baerg is his name and he is coming over to visit at 2 pm today. Jim and his wife Joan have lived in Kelowna area for many years now. It will be really nice to see them.
Well, blessings your way and chat at you soon,
Love and prayers,
Tim

Friday Entrylost

Hey, i was checking my blog tonight and noticed that my friday photo Mark 12:entry is gone. I have no idea what happened and i'm sorry about that, but it won't stop me from being a blogger.
Like i said this morning, Dale leaves for home tomorrow and that will be very sad for me, but Esther also arrives in the afternoon so that will be nice. I had my 19th treatment today. I guess my skin is getting all dry and irritated from the radiation on my back so I have to cream it up good every day now. But, overall, I continue to feel great and have such a positive sense of God working in my life.
Today, Don Richmond, Dale and I had an awesome communion service in the park across from the motel. It was an amazing time of sharing and prayer.(juice and crackers)
Tonight, Rod Myers came over with his brother Kerry and we had another great time together(chatted about old times in Brandon). I really am spoiled rotten and super thankful for all the encouragement coming my way all the time.
We are planning to go home next weekend to visit the kids and all.Oct.20-23. That will be nice. I am really looking forward going home and staying.Oct.31.
Anyhow, better go,
see ya,
Tim

Thurs.Oct.12

So, it looks like i'm getting quite spoiled while down here in the big city of Kelowna.(just looks like it) My friend Rod, hooked us up with tickets to the Kelowna Rockets hockey game last night. What a great game! Both teams were trying very hard to win because the lossing team would end up capturing last place in their division.(i think) Anyhow, i was impressed with Kelowna's young talent, plus they won.
Speaking of winning, i have always felt like i am on the winning side of this thing i am going through. This has to be partly due to the incredible support experienced from those around my family and I. We have felt so much love in so many ways! Of course, the main reason for feeling victory is because of the Lord in my life. You just can't lose with Him in your life. Relationship with God, through Jesus, spells victory. It spells success. It spells fullness. It spells complete. It spells HOPE!
Wow, i have never heard of something spelling so many things at the same time, but,
it is true! Now, i know all you english teachers out there might be a little concerned about what i am promoting here but please forgive me.I will try not to get to carried away. I just feel an sermon ready to burst out of me. Now here is homework for some of you who who would like to be involved in this sermon. Send me scripture references to back up these words that i said spell relationship. I can't wait to see the scripture references. I know you'll have fun with this. I am having a blast. This feels like a tag team sermon, for whoever wants to participate.
Anyhow, i am just leaving for treatment 17. Love ya,
Tim

wednesday wise

So, anyhow, as i was saying, wow, what a great visit home on the weekend. I saw the new 24 pass. bus that was donated to yfc for the first time. What a sweet unit! I mean, really, this is going to be used in a huge way. The seats are bucket, cloth, and recline. Incredible! Everyone around the centre is excited about the bus!
Did i say how much i enjoyed visiting the people who dropped by the house on the weekend to say hi, etc... Well, i loved it! I'll say it again, i loved it!
It is beautiful out once again and i am looking forward to getting out into the sunshine. I have to connect with Corwin. He is visiting family here right now, so we'll have to get together and visit. So often, it feels that there is just not enough time in a day to do the things that you really want to do. You know what i mean. Stuff just seems to pile up and then that's what you have to do all the time,
STUFF! Well, i want to challenge you today to leave a little of the stuff for tomorrow, and do something that you really wanted to do.(then please let me know how it went. I would love to hear what fun you had and hopefully it is the beginning of many good times, taking a break from all the stuff, and not feel quilty about it.
Hey, bye for now,
Tim

week4starts

Yes, i just completed the start of week 4 of 6 weeks treatment. I met with the doctor and he is real happy with everything so i guess it's all cool! Dale continues to behave and look after me real well. We had a nice visit with Russ Ford in Vernon for awhile before getting to Kelowna last night.
After the clinic today, we went shopping and bought some stuff for making some good meals. i do love to eat! Speaking of eating, it's almost time for supper.
Guess what? I just had a call from relatives who drove into Kelowna from Alberta to hang out with us this week. Dennis and Doreen Ramsdale and their daughter Brenda. Wow! What a surprize! Anhow, we just finished supper together and had great visit in our motel room. MOTEL ROOM! Ya, i said motel. I changed my mind again and checked into the Mission Park Inn, just a 3 minute walk from our last place. Once again, it gives us more flexibility and opportunity to relax and be a little spoiled at the same time.(wireless internet, tv, kitchenette, private, etc) Then, we move back to the room Esther loves at the Siesta Inn on Sunday. It will be a great 2 weeks with Esther here.(but my brother will due for now) Ok, i am spoiled rotten!
The phone number at the Mission is 250 762 2042 room 101. Of course, my cell is 250 303 1429. I love hearing from people. It is great to connect.
Anyhow, i am so happy about the weekend i had with family and friends, and am already pumped about going home at the end of October with this experience completed.
Well, blessings and see ya soon,
Tim

Turkey Monday

Ya, it was good! I thoroughly enjoyed visiting family and friends over the weekend.I even got to go to church for the first time in two months. Now, that was extremely special! The pastor asked me to share a few words and pray for requests. The flood of emotion that came to me sitting there and thinking about how blessed we have been by this congregation was huge, but somehow(thankyou Lord), I was able to share something from my heart and lead in prayer. What a great church, what a great GOD!
I did get my brother Dale out to a Timberwolf hockey game. Sure, it was a tough game for our t-wolf boys, but just being there and seeing more familiar faces, chat, chat, chat, etc... it was good! Then we came home to a big dinner. Grandma went wild on the turkey, stuffing, etc... and Esther and the gang did up the other fixins'. Like i said before, it was good!
So, we leave around noon today back to Kelowna to begin round two of 15 more rad.chemo treatments. Then, it's back home for the big regroup, rethink, relook at the whole picture. I am praying that i will be stronger than i am now, and ready to build and develop.(of course, "one day at a time" still has to be my theme, and i'm sure i will be reminded of that by many of you, honey.)
I just have to say thanks again to all you wonderful people who have been there for us over the past two months. Our fence is now up in our backyard, those special "ones" who have been there for my wife, and for my kids,etc...Thank you Lord! Plus, prayer!~ Well, blessings and thanks for the comments.
Sincerely,
Tim

Thankful Sunday

Hey, so sorry about neglecting my blog yesterday. We had such a great trip home on Friday. Smooth. Saturday, was fun just because we were home. It was so cool to be home! Wow! Plus, it was a blast to go to the yfc office for the first time since my diagnosis(2 months). I just loved it!! I mean really, just to be at the office and going through some files, helping with a little prep for the upcoming banquet, etc...
Wow! I just can't wait to see these next 3 weeks go by, then return home to family and friends again. The real cool thing is that the Lord is in my life anywhere and everywhere i am. Now, that is something to get pumped about! Family and friends can't always be where you are, but the Lord is always there. ALWAYS!!! So, if you ever feel alone, challenged with any such issue, the Word of God says that He is always there for you. Always! He will never leave us or forsake us! The key is...
you have to invite Him into your life to begin the relationship....so if you haven't already done that, i encourage you to now and you will truly have the best thanksgiving ever. Ever!!!
Hey, later,
Tim

3xs Thursdays

Well, we have started packing for the trip tomorrow. It will be great to be home for Thanksgiving. And, that's exactly what we are going to do. BE THANKFUL! Are you thankful? I sure hope so. With all of this extra time on my hands, i have been trying to spend mornings reading, praying and listening to awesome teachings from God's Word. It's been great! Question to self, so does it mean that i am nrmally too busy for all this stuff otherwise? It's definitely time for a priorities adjustment.
Anyhow, i have to catch my ride to the clinic right now, but i did want to ask you to send me some prayer requests you might have. Send on my email address on my blog site or ask me to send itto you.thanks,
tim

Wednesday Wonders

Hello!Again and Again!
Yes, it is true. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life! Yes, i said
WONDERFUL! I am so thankful that i asked Jesus to come into my life in my late teens.
Looking back, the one thing i would change if i had the chance would be inviting Jesus into my life earlier. It just amazes me that a person can talk(pray) to the Creator of this world, ask forgiveness for mistakes(sin),and then commits to following the Creator, something miraculous happens. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit actually comes into ones life when invited to be Lord(the Boss)! It also says that the HS(BOSS) gives power within to live life to the max. When i first prayed and asked Jesus(God's Son) into my life through His Spirit, I started to LIVE!
All of a sudden, i was more interested in others than myself. I had this keen interest in God being the major part in my life. As i began to read the Bible, i started to find out why i was so interested in others. Answer:Because God's love filled me to overflowing. It's the love of God! It's God's amazing love! Love, love, love! Careful, i might start singing!
As the days go by, i am reminded of God's love regularly. I want to pass that love on to others. When i was in the hospital following surgery, i felt the Lord saying to me so clearly. Love God, Love others! That's it. Don't make it complicated. I started to focus on what would happen if we did just that. Oh, got to go, see ya later,
Love Tim

3rd Tuesday

It was a busy day for me today. A couple of different doctors appointments and my regular radiation ordeal. All went smoothly and i'm feeling great. Both doctors were very pleased with how things have been going. I think i am doing a good job of snowing the both of them. I keep listening to awesome teaching tapes and even watched the new movie out with Michael W. Smith.
Friends are bringing food over and having supper with us today. That will be fun.
We are still planning to go home for the long weekend which i am really excited about.
Please be praying for Esther's arm. It continues to be very painful. She has had a variety of treatments but it still keeps her awake at night and causes lots of challenges to say the least.(you can pray for the rest of her too):)
Anyhow, keep tip toeing on the tulips with your thumbs up.
Love and prayers,
Tim

The Word of God

I can hardly believe it! I was just listening to a tape, Bible teaching that a person dropped off to my room today. I reached for my Bible and then it dropped. Out of my Bible, fell sermon notes that i recently preached. The notes started with point 2;Walk by Faith. I read it and i must say that it was good. I kept reading and looking up scripture and thought, wow, if i believe this stuff, i will be healed. Here's a line from the notes; Your journey with God, by faith, brings real excitement into your life.He gives you His Spirit to enable you to live for Him in power. Praise the Lord!
Isn't that exciting?! Of course it is! It is the Word of God. John 10;talks so clearly about Jesus giving abundunt, full life. The Bible is full of examples of God's healing power and His great love for us. I love the Lord and am so excited about what i am learning right now. And here i thought i knew it all! Seriously, i am so pumped about the Word of God and i hope you are too.
Hey, thanks for the prayers,
Tim

Beauty Sunday

Hi Ya'll,
My brother Dale and i had a great day together! Linda was on her way today. Wow,
she was such a blessing to me. Last night, as i was getting to sleep,my body started to spasm again. Normally, my arm or leg will twitch as i am trying to sleep. This time, it was my lower back spasming. Ouch! Each time i would say out loud, OUCH!
So, i was real soar and thinking, not a good day tomorrow. Anyhow, i get up and start to get changed. My bad leg felt real weird, so i was a little concerned. It seemed a way more loose and floppy. Anyhow, I got changed and came out to have breakfast. Before Linda left, she showed Dale how to check my blood flow, in my foot.
Right away, Linda said, wow Tim, the swelling has come right out of your foot. That's great! I then said, i knew something was different this morning, but i was thinking more negatively. Anyhow, we were all encouraged! I had another great day.
So, i just love the Lord and trust Him for each new day.
I am really looking forward to seeing my family on the long weekend. Tomorrow is the beginning of week 3 of 6.
Love ya,Tim
Thank you Lord for my family and friends. Thank you for your divine provision, for all my needs being met each day. The Word of God says that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. My life is complete in Jesus. Wow, i receive it! Amen!
