Sunday Oct.22

Good morning!
I sure had a great sleep in my bed! Yes, i love my bed. Actually, i have hardly used my bed because i have been in Kelowna. But guess what? I'll be back! That statement reminds me of the Arnold movies. At least he is giving his pals the oppurtunity to know that he will be back and they better be prepared for him. Actually, he's not such a big guy. I could take him! Ok, don't get laughing so fast. Most of you haven't seen me for quite awhile. Oh, that's right, you might have seen my foot the other day. Now that was nasty! Todd, will have to get permission from now on before he puts on pictures for me. That was just Nasty! Thanks Todd! You cutie pie. Todd, remember who hires you in the summers and hopefully fulltime come this April. Or, are you
trying to tell me something through this "Nasty" picture? Come on Todd, i can take it.
<--(take that Tim)<--
Anyhow, when i said the phrase, "I'll be back" i also thought of someone else who made that statement long before Arnold. Of course, it was Jesus. What is weird to me is that i have never thought about that connection regarding Arnold's line before. So, that leads me to want to say that Jesus really made that line famous. What's even more amazing is that Jesus wasn't just speaking lines he was given for the entertainment value. Jesus was making sure that all people knew what he was up to and that they had the opportunity to be ready upon His return. The Bible says that God does not want any to perish eternally outside of a friendship with the Lord. His heart is that all will ask forgiveness of sin and receive eternal life as one huge blessing! God loves His creation so much! But the Bible makes it so clear that He will never force anyone to follow His ways. It boils down to a choice. In a way, it's too bad we have a choice, because, so often, we want to do our own thing. Jesus came and paid the penelty for our sin on the cross. Then, just before Jesus went up to heaven he said "I'll be back!"(Tim's paraphrase). Yes, he is coming back to finish off the emeny of our souls and to gather up all who chose to follow his ways. Just think, eternity with Him. Not a bad deal! I didn't take the time to look up the scripture references for what i said. If you like, please email me and i will send the verse references. One last point i need to make here is this. Jesus never said "Live life to the fullest on your owe strenghth, good luck. Be careful." No, Jesus said, I am going to the Father, but "I will leave with you, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit." Thank the Lord that as we follow His ways, He is there to help us do what is right and pleasing to Him by allowing His Spirit to fill us and give us all we need so that we can stay in purity as we walk this road before His return. So, don't forget, it was Jesus who first made that line popular. I'll be back!
Love and prayers,
Tim

God is my refuge and strengh
Lord Jesus,
draw me close to you.
Be my soul's light out of darkness,
my anchor in life's turmoil,
my serenity under stress,
my joy in celebration,
and my hope at all times. Amen
