Whistling Away

Well, we made it down to Kelowna today to get ready for the big meetings with the specialists tomorrow at 12:50 and 3pm. My good friend, Dan Barber, drove Esther and I down here. That's so special because we could both rest and bug Dan at the same time.I had a great sleep last night and feel pretty good right now. I have to admit that I am a little nervous about the meetings tomorrow. I am so glad that Esther is with me. She has been such a huge help and encouragement to me. We are staying at Corwin Smid's parents tonight. Thanks Corwin for sharing! We listened alot to Keith Green music on the way down. His music is so inspiring and uplifting, not to mention focused on God's Word.
I have to say that I have been so blessed by the comments people have left on this blog. It really is neat to be connected to friends and family while going through this very bizarre time.Special thanks to Todd Hale for setting up this blog for me and putting in some pictures.I had a call today from our friend Lori from YFC/Calgary. It was great to hear from her and know that the whole YFC gang is praying lots for us. Anyhow, I better get to bed and start some heavy duty snoring.(sorry Esther) Bye for now, Tim

Relaxing Tuesday

What a great day! I was in bed all day relaxing away. I probably shouldn't mention that I enjoyed 2 milk shakes that were hand delivered. I think my wife is going to figure it out because she is already quite confused as to why I am not very hungry for supper. I had great visits with some great people who dropped into the house today.(ok, they didn't really drop in) Plus, my pastors came over for a visit and we had communion together. That was special! Then there was Jen. She dropped off some crazy puns that really hurt.(It only hurts when I laugh) For example: Two cannibals were eating a clown. One says to the other,"Does this taste funny to you? Or how about this. Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent. So goes my kinds of joking. Thanks Jen.
Prayer requests: the main thing right now is that my hip is quite soar and my jaw tends to tighten up.
Here is another great verse in a card i received. John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor let it be afraid."I find the words of the Lord very comforting!

For the Record: The article in the Tribune was much appreciated but I do need to make one correction. Corwin Smid committed to overseeing our Christmas Youth event, but not to running the whole YFC program this fall season.(not that he couldn't do it, but thanks Corwin)

Monday Memories

Hey, how are you all out there? My wife and I received a sweet letter from our niece today. What an awesome encouraging letter! She shared some Bible verses that are very special.
John 14:1 we find Jesus saying these words "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God;trust also in me." I really like the simplicity of that statement. That is what we are doing and that is what we will continue to do. Totally trust the Lord! The peace that comes from trusting in the Lord is so powerful. Another verse given to us is found at Hebrews 13:5 more words from the Lord "Never will I leave you;never will I forsake you." I thank the Lord for His promises throughout scriptures.

I don't know if you know about this or not but Esther and I had the most amazing time on our 25th anniversary celebration in June. We went all the way to Switzerland by cashing in our airmiles. Wow! Did we ever have a blast! We stayed with our friends over there and they spoiled us rotten, I mean rotten. Along with visiting other special friends, we went to see castles and special mountain scenery along with such unique villages and old city structures. We went on a special little cruise from one city to another than rode the train back to our friends. We also went to the Top of Europe and saw some "cool" ice sculptures. This one time I said to Esther, hey I'll lay under that roped off area you grab my arm so that it looks like you are rescueing me. So, as our friend Hanspeter was taking the picture, two asian guys came out of no where and grabbed my other arm and dragged me back to safety with Esther on the other arm. So,we have some special pictures of the big "rescue."
Anyhow, what a great time we had together!
Thanks so much for your prayers,
In His Grip,
Tim

Getting out and yfc

I was out for the first time last night since coming home last week. I had the great opportunity of assisting Dan and Cecile James as they renewed their wedding vows during their 25th anniverary celebration. What a great time!
Cecile is one awesome volunteer at Youth For Christ! She has been such a great blessing! Speaking on Youth For Christ, I am so thankful to the Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers. Everyone has stepped up and committed to keeping the ministry rolling. That is such a big blessing to me at this time. All the kind words and cards, prayers etc from the YFC Chapters across Canada have been very special to me as well.
WoW! The strength that comes from knowing everyone is cheering, praying and in so many ways caring for you is so powerful! I am so thankful for how it all helps my family at the same time. My wife and family have been so good to me. What a challenge it must be for them? My prayer today is that God will bring my wife and children a great day of rest and a deepening peace to go through this time together. If someone out there has any thoughts to share on this blog, feel free to add them here. I am hoping to keep up with regularly journaling and of course, your input is welcomed. Bye for now!

let's get connected

Welcome to my blogsite, i'm so excited about getting better connected to all my friends and family. This past few weeks has been one wild ride. I can't even imagine what it would've been like without so many people bringing encouraging words and prayers. It might be a little selfish on my part but i'm hoping that this blogsite will bring all kinds of positive interaction. God has shown himself so real to me at this time and i'm so thankful for that. My desire is to regularly update my friends and family throughout the course of treatment. At this time i know i have to be in Kelowna to meet with a couple of doctors who specialize in cancer treatment and i'm sure hoping that treatment will begin during the following week. So many people are praying for a miracle in my life and I'm quite willing and prepared to receive it.
My pastor, Wes Dynna has been a special blessing to me and the family. His visit to Kamloops was a real encouragement. My church family at Calvary have been a huge support. One family from the church bought us a brand new bed to better enable me to rest and prepare for treatment. When we received the bed i had this overwhelming sense that i was receiving more than a bed. I felt God speak so clearly that it wasn't just a bed, but that He is providing everything that my family will need as we go through this time together. To me, THAT'S HUGE! Special thanks once again for all the visitors, cards, calls, and financial support, etc... They mean so much to my wife and I and our family.
